My name is Tricia Harrell Tawes. I was born and raised in Wanchese, North Carolina. My husband, David and I live in Mackey's Ferry, North Carolina with our 18 year old daughter, Anna.  We also have a 22 year old daughter, Julia, and a beautiful baby granddaughter, Becca. 

 

I have been teaching for the past 20 years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and I am also a certified Reading Specialist.  I attended college at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and graduated from Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. I have taught in Dare County, Beaufort County, and Tyrrell County. I have taught every grade from kindergarten to fifth grade. I am a Nationally Board Certified teacher. 

 

 

Dear Parents,

 

I know that this year looks very different than any school year that we have had.  Virtual learning is going to be a challenge for us all. However, I promise to do my best and to also be patient with your students and you. Please extend the same courtesy to me!  This is new for us all!!!

 

Most of the information that you will need to know will be shared via ClassDojo. I have sent invites to parents using your phone numbers. If you did not get an invite, please make sure to let me know your phone number and email address. I can be contacted by Class Dojo message, by email: [email protected], and by phone: (252)473-8943.  Please text me on my phone if possible and I will return your text or give you a call as soon as possible. Also, please call between the hours of 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. I will not be returning or answering calls at night. 

 

I am looking forward to getting to know your student.  I absolutely love teaching kindergarten!  I am sure that it will be a great year!
