Thank you to our third through fifth grade parents for making sure your students were at school each day and on time for testing.

On Wednesday of this week, we will have a fifth grade transition night at 5:30 in the TES Media Center. During this time, parents of fifth grade students can come out and meet with Dr. Tripp to learn about the course offerings at CMS, ask questions, as well as sign up for classes.

On Thursday, students will participate in Fly Up Day. Fly Up Day is when students will spend time in the next grade level to see what it is like before they actually transition into the next grade level. (Please note that just because a student goes to a particular teacher’s class does not mean that that teacher will be their teacher for the upcoming school year.)

Friday we will host our 5th Grade Luncheon at 12:30 in the TES Cafeteria. Please be sure you have returned your child’s form to his/her homeroom teacher so we can plan accordingly.

Also, on Friday, we will have a Luau for our Positive Behavior Celebration. Any student who has not received more than one office or bus referral will be able to participate.

We hope all of our mothers and mother figures have a wonderful Mother’s Day tomorrow! We appreciate all you do for everyone!

On Tuesday of this week we will have our second semester Lockdown Drill. The drill will take place at 9:00 A.M. Please let your child know that this will be a drill.

Report cards go home on Thursday of this week. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s grades.

Kindergarten Registration will take place on Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. If you have a rising kindergarten student, please come out and get them registered for kindergarten. All registered kindergarten students will have the opportunity to participate in our Rise to Kindergarten Camp in June.

**Students currently enrolled in the Pre-K 4 program at TES do not have to register.**

Help Us Spread the Word!!!!

TES is hosting Kindergarten Registration on Friday, May 19th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Appointments are not required to register, but are encouraged. Children must be 5 on or before August 31, 2023.

The following items are needed when you come to register:

-Parent/Guardian Picture ID
Proof of Tyrrell County Residency (utility bill, gas, water, electric) or rent/mortgage paperwork
-Child's Birth Certificate
-Current Immunization Records
-NC Kindergarten Physical Form (if already completed)
-Any Court Documents for Guardianship

**If your child is currently enrolled in the TES Pre-K Four Year old class, you do NOT have to come out to register him/her.**

Registered kindergarten students will have the opportunity to participate in our Rise to Kindergarten Summer Program. This program is for students entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2023, including PK4 students as well as new enrollees. This will serve as a transition into school. Routines and procedures for the kindergarten classroom will be introduced. It will include educational and fun activities daily.

On Wednesday of this week, our End of Year mClass Reading Assessment begins for students in third through fifth grade.

Looking ahead, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 8th-12th. Please help us show some love for our wonderful teachers at TES.

Friday, May 12th is Field Day. More information will be coming home soon.

We will be offering classroom and school tours for 1st-5th grade this week. This is an opportunity for parents to come in and see what the next grade level will be like for their student, as well as for families new to TES to see what we have to offer. Please spread the word.

These tours will take place 9-11 each day and the schedule for each grade level can be found below.

Monday- 1st & 2nd Grades
Tuesday- 3rd & 4th Grades
Wednesday- 5th Grade

We will have our April School Improvement Team meeting on Tuesday of this week from 3:30-4:30. Parents are welcome to join us.

Our DUKE Energy Science Night will take place on Thursday of this week from 5:00-7:00. We hope families will come out and join us to participate in all of the fun, as well as see our 4th and 5th grade science fair projects.

Please note this important information for Thursday. After school tutoring and our After School program will end at 4:45 on Thursday so that staff can get to their stations for our Science Night.

On Friday, there will be a vaping assembly for fifth grade students. A letter with more information will be sent home tomorrow with students.
