Weekly Announcements 3/6/23-3/10/23

Busy Week Ahead:

This week will host our first book fair of the 22-23 school year. Students were able to participate in a quick walk-through on Friday to look at the items being offered.

This week is also National School Breakfast week. Tuesday-Thursday we will have a different theme for students and parents to participate in. Tuesday is Donuts for Dads. We invite dads and/or father figures to come out and eat breakfast with their child/children.

Wednesday is Muffins for Moms. We invite moms and/or mother figures to come out and eat breakfast with their child/children.

Thursday is grandparents day. We invite grandparents out to eat breakfast with their grandchild/grandchildren.

Participants and students will eat in the cafeteria and can join us from 7:30-8:25. The cost for breakfast for adults is $2.25.

Technically, Read Across America Week began last week. However, since students were participating in our last Check-in of the year, we did not want them to miss out on the full week of activities, so we are celebrating Read Across America this week.

We want to thank all of the volunteers who have agreed to come out and read to our students. Your overwhelming support is greatly appreciated! You can find the theme for each day below.

Monday-Hat Day
Tuesday- Wear something green
Wednesday-Mismatched or silly socks
Thursday- Pajama Day
Friday-Dress for Success. We will be taking Spring and Class pictures

This week our 3rd-5th grade students will take the last NC Check-in of the year. Please help us out by ensuring your child gets a good night’s rest, eats a good breakfast at home or school, and arrives at school on time. You can find the schedule for this assessment below.

Tuesday: 5th Grade Science
Wednesday: 3rd & 4th ELA, 5th Math
Thursday: 3rd & 4th Math, 5th ELA
Friday: Make-ups

Looking ahead: We will have our first Book Fair of the year March 6th-10th. Spring and Class pictures will be taken on March 10th.

This week we will host our Kindergarten / School Tours for upcoming kindergarten families. Children do not have to currently be enrolled for families to participate in these tours. Please check out our Facebook page for the times.

Tuesday, we will have our February School Improvement Team Meeting at 3:30 in the Media Center. Parents are invited to join us.

Our Math Night and Black History Performance will take place on Thursday from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Families should come through the gate and enter the building on the fifth grade hall. It is going to be an amazing night of fun and learning! We hope to see everyone there!

Don’t forget enrollment has started. We encourage families of upcoming Kindergarten students to go ahead and get enrolled as soon as possible.

Tomorrow, Monday, February 13th is an Optional Teacher Workday. There is no school for students. Also, please remember that Valentine’s Day items should not be delivered to the school as these items cannot be taken on the buses. We appreciate your support with this.

Progress reports go home on Thursday. Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns regarding progress reports.

Looking ahead: We are excited to announce that we will be hosting kindergarten classroom and school tours the week of February 20th-24th. We look forward to seeing all of our upcoming kindergarten students and families join us to see what we have to offer at TES. Help us spread the word. You do not have to currently be enrolled to participate. Please check out the schedule below.
