Las escuelas del condado de Tyrrell operarán con un retraso de 2 horas mañana, lunes 18 de diciembre.

We hope everyone had a wonderful break and had the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. We are excited to welcome our students back bright and early Monday morning!

On Wednesday-Friday of this week, students in 3rd-5th grade will participate in a District Benchmark assessment. This assessment will be utilized as a quick check to assess where students are after reteaching specific standards from the NC Check Ins.

Progress reports will go home on Thursday. Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions about your child’s progress reports.

Tuesday is an Early Release day for students. Students will be released at 1:00 PM. There will be no After School on Tuesday. If your child attends our After School program, please notify your child’s teacher of how your child will go home on Tuesday.

There is no school Wednesday-Friday in observance of Thanksgiving Break. We hope our students and families are able to spend time with each other and reflect on all we have to be thankful for. Students will return to school on Monday, November 27th.

If you have not picked up your Candy Man items, please do so before 4:00 PM on Tuesday.

🚨Due to high winds, Tyrrell County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule for today, Monday, December 11, 2023.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to help us support our Veterans with our Veterans Day program. We are so thankful for their sacrifice!

Our first Book Fair of the 23-24 school year kicks off this week. Please come and check it out:)

On Monday, November 13th, we will host our 3rd Grade Parent Read to Achieve Night. We will meet in Mrs. Dixie Armstrong’s room beginning at 6:00 PM. Students and parents will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair until 7:30 PM on this date.

On Tuesday, all TES students and staff will take a short trip to Tyrrell Hall to welcome The Wall That Heals as it comes through Columbia. Please be sure to return your child’s permission slip so he/she can attend.

Thursday of this week, we will have our Parent Thanksgiving lunch. Parents are invited to come out during their child’s assigned lunch time and have a Thanksgiving feast. The cost of an adult meal is $6. No bills larger than $20 can be accepted.

This week we will begin parent-teacher conferences. Our window for these will run through Friday, November 17th. Please be on the lookout for a message and/or phone call from your child’s teacher.

On Thursday of this week, we will honor our Veterans with our annual Veterans Day program. The program will begin at 9:00 AM in the gym.

There is no school for students or staff on Friday in observance of Veterans Day.

Thank you to all who came out and joined us for the Fall Festival on Thursday. We hope everyone had a great time!

In continuation of Red Ribbon week, tomorrow students may “Dress for their future”. Students can dress for their future career or success.

On Tuesday, students can say “BOO to drugs” by wearing a school appropriate costume (no masks, hoods, or hats with costumes- no weapons or weapon-like props are allowed.)

Wednesday is a Teacher Workday. There is no school for students on Wednesday of this week.

Report cards go home on Friday. Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns regarding report cards.

Also, on Friday, we will host our first Positive Behavior celebration of the year. Students who are eligible will participate during their grade level’s designated time.

Don’t forget to come out and join us this Thursday, October 26 from 6:30-8:30 pm. There will be lots of games and fun for everyone!

The Portrait of a Graduate session will take place in the CHS Auditorium from 5:30-6:30. This session is for parents of 5th, 8th, and 9th-12th graders. Important information will be shared during this session so you do not want to miss it!

Report cards go home on Friday. Please reach out to your child’s teachers with any questions or concerns.

Also, please remember that if your child arrives at school late, an adult must accompany him/her inside to sign them in. We appreciate your help with this.

We would like to thank everyone for their support of our Candy Man fundraiser!

Tomorrow, Monday, October 16th, we will have our first Lockdown Drill of the year. Please remind students that this is just a drill. Parents / visitors will not be allowed in the building during this time.

On Tuesday, we will have our October School Improvement Team meeting at 3:45 in the media center. Parents are welcome to join us.

This week, our 3rd-5th grade students will participate in the NC Check-in Assessments. Tuesday- ELA Check-in
Wednesday- Math Check-in
Thursday- 5th grade students will take the Science NC Check-in.

Please help us out by ensuring your child gets a good night’s rest, eats a good breakfast at home or school, and arrives at school on time. We appreciate your support with this.
